Basic rules
1. Bring can to room temperature.
The spray can should not be too cold. The ideal temperature is 20°C.
2. Shake
Shake the can vigorously for about 2 minutes until you can clearly hear the beads inside. This step is very important for mixing the color pigments. It's the only way to obtain the desired color.
3. Preparation
Whenever possible, spray outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms (cellar, workshop or garage). Indoors, cover surrounding areas sufficiently to catch the fine paint mist. Surfaces that are not to be painted should be masked. It's also important to work with good lighting to check that the surface is completely painted.
4. Spray
Never spray the object immediately. First test on newspaper or covering paper. At this stage, make sure you keep a distance of 25 to 30 cm. Different objects require different spraying techniques. Start spraying paint away from the object. Press down firmly on the spray head as you do so. Move the spray can back and forth slowly and evenly, turning the can as you move away from the object. This is the best way to dose the spray correctly and avoid clumps of paint on the surface to be painted, which would form “tears” or “drips”.
Don't try to achieve a smooth surface on the first pass. The first pass should be regarded as a “preparation mist”; a smooth surface can be achieved with the second or possibly third pass, i.e. by spraying the paint in a “wet-on-wet” technique at intervals of 1-2 minutes. You must wait 24 hours before applying any further coats, otherwise there is a risk of “blistering”.
If you follow the detailed instructions and the specific instructions on the labels, nothing stands in the way of your company's success!
