The Renault 4 commonly called 4L is an extremely popular car of simple and practical design. It was built from 1961 to 1992 in 28 different countries. It is the first passenger car that adopted the traction of the estafette. Very popular with craftsmen, small SMEs, PTT or EDF. The gendarmerie adopted it because it is one of the few French cars of the time when the gendarme kept his kepi. Leading sales from 1962 to 1965, it was produced in 8,135,424 copies!
