The Volkswagen Beetle was designed during the interwar period at the request of Adolf Hitler. It is the "people's car" and the 1st Beetle is produced in 1938. With its beautiful round body, it also had a 4-cylinder engine. It is sturdy placed in the back which had the reputation of requiring little maintenance and lasting a very long time. It will become famous after the war all over the world and produced more than 21,529,464 copies. There will be several engines (1100 to 1600 cm3). The small Volkswagen with rounded shapes will have different nicknames. Depending on the country: "kafer" in Germany, "Beetle" in England, "Escarabajo" in Spain, Beetle in France... It goes up to 157km/h for a consumption of 7L/100 kms.
