Areas of use and special features

The main advantage of lacquer is that it is non-flammable and odorless. It can be used in the same way as a solvent-based lacquer, with the difference that on some wood species, a slight lifting of fibers may occur. It can also be applied to any porous surface (slate, brick, etc.).

Mainly used on toys and decorative items. The addition of water-based polyurethane resins gives the deposited film enhanced resistance to chemical and mechanical aggression. Lacquer has good filling power, but with certain colors, notably yellow, it's advisable to apply a white primer, which will enhance the visual and tactile appearance of your surfaces and reduce the number of coats of lacquer required. This provides superior coverage, enabling you to hide certain wood defects such as knots, dark veins, stains, etc. All application utensils must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed with water before drying, as the quality of the resins used means that the lacquer does not become soggy or stripped after drying.
