For British off-road vehicle enthusiasts, here is my latest scrolled painting of a Land Rover Series II A, made between 1961 and 1971 — one of the most recognizable silhouettes in automotive history.
A little history around the model
The Land Rover Series II A was produced in two separate bodies: the short 88-inch and the long 109-inch, both powered by a 2.25-litre engine available in petrol or diesel versions. These characteristic proportions are faithfully captured in the scrolled cutout, which captures the ruggedness and utilitarian elegance of this iconic vehicle.
An artisanal construction in birch plywood
The painting is made of birch plywood with a scroll saw, a technique that allows precise contours and sharp details to be obtained. This made in France creation, made in my workshop in Auvergne, was made at the request of a Land Rover enthusiast who wanted a unique and personalized object.
