The Bat Game — a classic handcrafted wooden strategy

Among the timeless wooden games, the Bat Game occupies a special place. Simple in its rules, deep in its strategy, it fascinates children and adults alike.

The rules of the game

The principle is clear: two players take turns taking 1, 2 or 3 sticks from a set placed on the table. The objective is strategic — you must not take the last stick, because that would be losing the game. This simple constraint forces you to anticipate the opponent's moves and to count, making the Rod Game an excellent exercise in logic and mental arithmetic, suitable from the age of 6.

Handcrafted in solid wood

The poles are turned and polished by hand in my workshop in Auvergne, in carefully selected solid wood. Their touch is soft and their weight balanced, contributing to the tactile enjoyment of the game. This handcrafted wooden toy made in France is durable, battery-free, screen-free — a return to the essentials of play.

The Stick Game makes an ideal gift for young and old alike, on its own or as a complement to a selection of other wooden games. Available in the shop.
