Châteauneuf-de-Grasse Wood Fair — craftsmanship and passion for wood

Every year, I travel to Châteauneuf-de-Grasse to visit the Salon du Bois, a high-quality event that brings together passionate craftsmen around woodworking in all its forms.

A show that highlights local species

The creations presented are made of different species of wood from the region — olive, cade, hackberry, among others — which gives each object a unique character linked to the terroir. Craftsmen work live throughout the weekend, offering visitors a rare immersion in the gestures and techniques of artisanal woodworking.

Public participation, highlight of the show

One of the most popular moments is the spinning top workshop: children and parents pedal together to train a wood lathe and participate in the making of their own spinning top, which they leave with at the end. This participatory experience vividly conveys the passion for wood and the pleasure of creating with one's hands.

This type of fair is a reminder of how much wood craftsmanship remains alive and inventive. It is a precious source of inspiration for the Au Bois Enchanté workshop, in Auvergne.
